The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a global leader in the fight against cancer. In fulfillment of their mission, LLS sponsors a myriad of fundraising events. Community events include the well-known “Light the Night,” “Big Climb,” and “Student of the Year.” LLS also sponsors athletic events including runs, climbs, biking, and more. All events require their own custom t-shirts, promotional water bottles, employee apparel, volunteer t-shirts, reusable tote bags, etc. That’s a lot of swag to order and track! Keeping track of sizes, event logos, colors and organizing delivery was a huge undertaking for these numerous events happening in different locations at different times.
As with many large businesses and organizations, LLS uses procurement software to manage and optimize organizational spend and perform processes with quotes, purchase orders, and invoices, but it could not help with the details of all the promotional products orders.
LLS needed an online store their employees could easily access, pick out what they wanted, and order their own size and color preferences outside of the organization’s procurement system. The trick, however, was that all promotional purchases needed to run through the procurement software, so the question was how are we going to do this without extra work?
